AS European patent for a “Composite Duct with Integrated Flanges to be Used in Aircraft Hot Zone” on its way to be granted.
EPO expressed its intent to grant a European Patent about AS application for an innovative multilayer tubular duct and its production methodology.
Composite Bleed Air Duct is an important innovation concerning the conditioning of commercial aircraft. Conducting hot air from the engine to the conditioning system and de-icing system, the Bleed Air Duct has demanding requirements in terms of temperature containment and pressure. Actually manufactured with welded titanium alloy, thermal blankets and monitoring systems, a composite solution is simpler, lighter and less costly.
